Championing Change for Children with Disabilities


Mary E. Dolan – Ms. Dolan has worked in the disability field for over 20 years as a teacher of children with disabilities, and in senior management positions including Vice President and Chief of Staff at the National Organization on Disability. Mary is co-founder of Inclusion Zone, and co-host of the The Mary&Melissa internet radio show. Mary is a member of the US-Vietnam Dialogue Group on Agent Orange/Dioxin, organized by the Aspen Institute. She holds a BA from American University, a MA from the University of Denver, and yet another MA from George Washington University in Special Education. She is the mom to two wonderful children, one of whom has a disability. She hails from Long Island, NY (south shore) but now calls Washington, DC home. Melissa A. Rizio – Ms. Rizio is an artist, photographer, Spanish language educator, community activist, and former World Bank international development staff member.  She is trained in the field of education entertainment.  She has also studied Reiki, and massage therapy. Melissa is co-host and co-founder of The Mary&Melissa Show. She holds a BA from The New College of California, and is bilingual in Spanish, having spent her formative years in South America. Ms. Rizio is also a parent of a child with disability, and is a native Washingtonian.
